12-10-2023 - 2nd Sunday of Advent

The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

As it is written in the Prophet Isaiah, "See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'" John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And people from the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. He proclaimed, "The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

12-3-2023 - 1st Sunday of Advent

Jesus said to his disciples; "Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come.

"It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with a particular task, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. Therefore, keep awake - for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly.

"And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake."

11-26-2023 -Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Jesus said to his disciples: ' When the son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him , then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left.
"Then the king will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing. I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.'........

11-19-2023 - 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Jesus spoke this parable to his disciples: 'For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them: to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability, then he went away.
"The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents, the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents, But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hit his master's money....."
